How is it planted? Fertilizer? Shade, sun? How does the plant look overall?

Overall plant looks good. I put in some nice new soil when I replanted it and it has grown well since I replanted it after winter in the same spot. I have feeding it Richards banana fuel and some normal miracle grow. But I am guessing I might have missed some nutrients especially for fruit setting size wise...
Appreciate any insight since it is a lot of work to get a banana in Texas to flower and bear fruit. Still love my Sweetheart ;-) since it is probably one of my nicer looking bananas due to the huge leaves that are quite resistant to wind It is getting sun from mid morning to late afternoon, some shade before and beyond that. |

I dont grow it but could it be
the First Generation crop? PRGs growing/boasts about it and should have input. His is ratoon or 2nd generation on the same mat. FHIA-03 First Ratoon Crop I guess you dont get as much wind as PRG does.Last edited by Going Bananas : 08-15-2015 at 08:52 PM. |

You mean FHIa-03 the plant? I have a small plant I can take a pic of but it has no fruit if that is your question.

i noticed your growing zone. I am in zone 8b or 9a and I've found that my early fruiters will do the same thing. Bananas like many months of warm weather to fruit and we always fall short in that dept. so we do what we can to create the happy banana, I try to grow as many as I can plus doing all the right things and sooner or later you should get some better bunches.

I noticed you're growing in zone 8, this member also grows in zone 8 and it looks like they'll be harvesting a sweetheart of a bunch. This could be a good opportunity for you to ID your sweetheart, Good Luck.
