Can anyone tell me if this a real truly tiny or is it a SDC? Don't remember it ever having wine spots like my other cavendish. It was sold as a truly tiny.
Thanks
Hope the pictures work. It's my first time. :drum:

Neither is my guess... but I'm no expert! They don't look like mine so...

Haha that figures. It's less than a year old. Grows pretty fast and has had 6 pups so far. Seems really hardy however I believe It has slowed some due to the heat. I was really hoping for some type of Brazilian. It was in the pot for around 6 months and has been in the ground about 3 months.

Looks similar to SDC, but does not have as much red in the pstem as mine do, my SDC have wine spots till the pstem is mature.

The two on the left are SDC pups, the one on the right is an unknown.

Here is a picture I found of when I first received it. I don't ever remember any wine spots. Does all cavendish have wine spots? I think all of mine do. That's what has me thrown off. I know most sold as TT are SDC. Also seems the leafs are really wide. May just seem like that way since it's the only super dwarf I have.
Thank yall so much for your input.

Mine are not a year old either and have red on the pstem. They were labeled TT but I'm sure they're SDC.
You still got a nice healthy plant!

All the photos online that I see of Truly Tiny show them with wine spots, maybe even a little more heavy than SDC. My SDC doesn't show them in shade, or indoors, only in full sun. Even that heavily spotted weird plant I have that looks like a Dwarf green Zebrina (Suspect Hi Color Mini.....maybe lol) shows no spots in shade. But if there is a lot of mixing them up that might explain why, and people might be getting SDC instead. SDC when fully grown do get kinda tall for what people might consider a Super Dwarf. I think my mother plant is maybe 3 1/2 feet in a container with very wide leaves, but after looking at the wiki, it says truly tiny achieves this height also, that doesn't seem very Truly Tiny to me lol. What ever you have it is in the Super Dwarf group, you can tell by the Petioles. Not sure about Truly Tiny, but SDC is pretty much impossible to get to fruit for me, I cram them full of Fertilizer, and straight sun all summer, but no fruit, SDC is supposed to choke very badly a lot of the time when they do fruit. The main difference I see in your plant and mine, is that yours has no purple red on the pstem, mine has that even in shade after the plants mature and lose the spots. SDC's growth form changes for me in the winter, indoors the plant takes on a squished form with a rosette of leaves that ends up looking more like some kind of vegetable, I see this a lot in other peoples photos as well. When grown in sun, it takes a more traditional looking banana form with elongated trunk, even though its still much shorter than usual.

My TT mat has nice wine markings on the leaves with young plants. Its in full sun and the markings fade with age like all other cavendish. Three ft is the biggest mine have ever gotten,so that and the coloring is a given. They freeze to the ground in the winter as well so never gotten any fruit.
Siege you could have a TT. Mine are all larger now and not as colorful and vigerious after our horrible winter here. But pretty sure mine have alot like that, but could be a high color mini as well. Time will tell :)

Its very Possible, its highly ornamental at this stage, but I expect the markings to fade as it gets older. Its not quite as stocky as the other Super Dwarf varieties yet. When I first got it, it was variegated with white, but the stem died back in cold, and the pups re sprouted like this, so now its really confusing lol. Only reason I just dont call it High Color Mini is that it is not frail like a lot of peoples descriptions and loves full sun. I think I will call it Musa Confusing, or Musa NotRajaPuri

Thanks for all the help! Very nice plant. High color mini would be cool. Seems like ordering TC's is like a box of chocolates you never know what your gonna get. As for mine, I have a few pups I removed recently and as soon as they are slightly larger they will be in the sun and I will watch for wine spots.

TT have a distinct shape/color to them.
With a side by side comparison you will see the slight difference.
I have almost mature TT to compare them to maybe these photos can help .
The older plants at the nursery did not exibit wine spots however the SDC did.

According to media hound, truly tiny
is supposed to be a form of Brazilian.

You and I joined the org about the same time.
My take on your desire to acquire an SDC is to order
from Fakey Achy Hill Nursery a Mona Lisa
and you will receive one of these...

Im 85% sure its an SDC.
Its a fast grower with picture
taken 2 months after receiving tc.

I'm hoping it's not an SDC. Lol. I would be happy with it being SDC but I would be very happy if it is anything other than SDC!! Reading the FL mountain nursery thread on here I would never order anything from that jerk no matter how cheap it is.

Exactly!! I have no experience with them but they will never get my business just from how the owner acted on here.
I will be happy with the plant no matter what it is. However I really was hoping it is not SDC. I was really wanting it to be a TT as it was sold as.
