just brought back. i harvested them a week ago on Thursday and cut the pseudostem off the next afternoon. i planted when i got home on Saturday. i was worried that i cut the pseudostem too close to the corm on one, but when i was watering it on Monday i uncovered a root coming out (lower one in pic). i covered back up and left it alone for 3 days. i uncovered to take the picture Friday morning. you can see it now has two. i have not dug around to see if any others are sprouting out on either plant. on the other one part of what is left of the pseudostem seems to be still hanging on. should i let it go as is, trim the brown dying part or cut it off and just cover. i have kept the dirt moist watering about a quart in the evenings.https://scontent-dfw1-1.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xfp1/v/t1.0-9/s851x315/11831739_1201346399880573_5549071650417446145_n.jpg?oh=7ba171644 2373d019dedc7f0c6d7933a&oe=564FBD3B https://scontent-dfw1-1.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xap1/v/t1.0-9/s851x315/20285_1201346416547238_5600507532420043441_n.jpg?oh=d71c9a8eb0d8 ea8f08e83a81ccf9f1cc&oe=5650D5B7

So, whatshr problem? You have the start of a viable plant. You do not
state, why you cut off the PS, but that is beside the point now, that it is gone.

Here is a plant ......similar to your situation...

The plant is 3x bigger now..50 days later,

That is a really good example of when things go wrong with a corm to not give up on it. Cool pict!

U shaved a little off the corm on the first one, but it will send out pups soon enough. Bottom one looks perfect.

thanks all for response.
i have not had experience with bananas and thought i cut too much. but i have been looking at some other threads. i saw one poster in Tennessee that digs his up in the fall and just leaves them in his crawl space till spring, so they are pretty hearty.
in a little over a month one is doing very good. https://scontent-sjc2-1.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xaf1/v/t1.0-9/11990396_1224214544260425_52041411369961558_n.jpg?oh=eada39cec09 999757bc1b5b655a82777&oe=567131F8

Yep, looks like you cut into the corm, but if its rooting it probably has eyes on it somewhere that will sprout pups.
