We redid our back yard last year here in Dana Point Ca. I told the wife who is an exotic palm enthusiast that I wanted bananas so she planted 3 Blue Java's. One of the plants is almost mutant looking and much larger than the other 2 having what looks like what will become a great bunch of bananas. I have no experience with bananas and just joined this site.

I put 2 photos in the gallery.

They were purchased as a special order at the Mission Viejo Home Depot. Apparently the wife has made friends with the nursery manager and can special order at a very good price.

Looking foward to making all kinds of banana food.

Your ice cream is more than likely a namwah, which is supposed to produce a better fruit.

Welcome to bananas.org.
You have some very nice looking banana plants with an impressive fruit bunch. I agree with Merce that it is definitely not a Blue Java - Ice Cream banana plant. Looks like a nice sized Namwah to me.
