Dear all,

I am a newcomer and a beginner concerning growing bananas. I am interested in dwarf botanic species that can be grown from seeds and can be grown in containers.

Any good suggestions of a few dwarf botanic species that go to flower early and have edible fruit?

I only have one plant to date that I have grown from seed. It looks beautiful, but it was the only one which grew to maturity of several seeds.

Best

Corrado

Where do you live ?

I put the pin on the map where I live .... just East of York, in the North East of England. I have added it to my profile, and added the zone as well!

Regards

Corrado

Well, i'm not in your growing zone (nor am i an expert) but may i suggest you google the "Musa Truly Tiny" variety...dwarf plant that produces a small edible fruit...seems to be the ideal container plant. I have two and they are beautiful cultivars.

So there is a banana that fruits at thigh high! I stopped and purchased a bareroot pup from a man on the side of the road last Sunday. English was not his first language so he used a lot of "hand" words. He pointed mid thigh on himself and said "Wonderful."
