So the back story is I have just recently started to care for banana plants at my house I bought last year. One plant has bore 2 hands and now the wait for it to ripen. Once I harvest the fruit, am I supposed to completely remove the plant or am I supposed to chop it down to the ground to allow more growing? Also I have other banana plants that I have no clue if they ever fruited. Should I chop them all down in winter?

after it blooms yes chop it down and make compost. And for the ones your not sure of how tall are they ,if they are still small in height. I would give them another year to see if they bloom. ( Pictures would help a lot.)

So im chopping it down but not removing it right? Here's a pic of the plants. The second from the left has the fruit. The ones on the right are about 10 ft.

After the fruit is removed, keep the plant till all the leaves have lost their green. Green leaves still add energy to the mat (group). Cut the stalk off near the ground - do not remove the corm or roots. The corm will rot when it is no longer of benefit to the mat.

What if the pseudostem is still green or viable
but the leaves itself is already yellow or brown?
Can we cut the p-stem already?
TY!
