I purchased a couple of monrovia brand musa basjoo from my local nursery. After a few weeks I noticed they don't appear to resemble my neighbors or most pictures I find online. They do only get 3hrs direct sunlight and another few hours partial sun so I know they won't be as big as if they were getting full sun. Any help would be appreciated to let me know based on experience as I don't want to go thru the trouble of overwintering in zone 6 if they are not. [ img ] [ / img ]

I just gave away a Basjoo about that size, and it looked the same as your picts. It's hard to be 100% sure until the plant flowers, but it looks like Basjoo to me.:bananas_b

Pretty sure they are Basjoo, the reddish mid rib is variable in plants I have seen.

They sure look like Basjoo!
Water them more and they will grow faster.
Good luck! :)
