I have been growing bananas for years and have recently moved to another state and brought my bananas with me and they are planted in the ground in my yard. Where i used to live they grew 15 feet tall and straight. Well...I recently planted some in my yard and they are now established and growing. However, they are growing sideways. Do any of you have this problem and know how i can straighten them without digging them up and shocking them? The summer heat would definitely shock them. Its not like they are growing towards the sun, they are just tilting to the side. Any info will be a great help. Thanks Debbie

I have them growing like that all the time. Nothing you could do but to replant it.it will not hurt nothing till you get a bunch of bananas on, then you might have to prop it up with some pvc or 2x4.When they are young pups you can try to stake them and make em grow more straight.
sometimes when there are more than 1 or 2 growing like that in the same mat, I keep some old water hose around and just tie them all together so they help support each other. Hope that helps you.......but that is really nothing to worry about till you get a bunch..............................kub
