With each season and holiday, I try and do something humorous with the cat and rabbit. The neighbors never know what to expect, and this is what I came up with this time. It's a little dark, but Kitty and Bunny are both wearing Uncle Sam hats, and Bunny is waving a flag.

Have a safe and Happy Independence Day, and never forget that freedom is not free!

I like the addition of the bottle on the ground...

Thanks JP. There's a lot of details that don't show up in this pic. I have a nautical theme with the pilings and the starfish, crab etc. There is also a giant conch shell, three bottles a copper lamp, and in the foreground, I have the roped pilings around my caladiums. I'll get better shots of the plants and stuff when the lighting's better.

Where do you find the time?

Because I cram an entire work week into Wednesday evening through Friday afternoon. Two weeks a month I also work on Tuesday. This is what allows me to write, act and otherwise work from home the rest of the time. :2738:

And now it is really the 4th--EST.

I'm heading out tomorrow to meet friends at 7ish. About 2.5 miles total or so on my bike. Yes, I bought a used bike and bought lights for her. My virgin ride was this past week; a girl needs beer sometimes, right?

Plan is for me to bike back home before dark but I really want to stay and watch the fireworks with them. (2 "boys" (men over 50) biking together after dark another .5 miles--sissies!)

It's been years since I rode so I did a test on my country road tonight--RT 2 miles. Cars went around me so my lights work but I can't stop getting shaky when there's a car behind me! (Handlebars are weird and I don't think can be fixed. I miss my nice Lady Sears model.) At the end of my test run, when I was turning around, I drifted towards the other lane. Driver was aware and blew their horn. Good thing? They were aware of me on the road as were the other 10ish ones I'd encountered before. Bad thing? They have undie laundry to do and I do feel bad. (I didn't brake; I was drifting so knew I wasn't very close.)

I'm so hoping this old out of shape bat has the courage to do the ride tomorrow. The pull? I love watching the booms not just hearing them.

We shall see...

BTW. nice use of feline and hare.

My bike's been out of commission for about four years now. I miss riding. I've logged about 110,000 miles on two wheels since 1991 in the US and Canada.
