I have tall Orinoco (stores great under the house) and I am fixing to plant out a test subject pup to get established, to see if it survives the winter here in zone 7, I have seen a few sites that say its possible to preserve the Pstem overwinter with Orinoco with caging, but I am a bit skeptical of that actually working in zone 7 temps. Anybody ever try this in zone 7?

Check out PlantDelight. They are in Raleigh,NC and on the border of zone 7 more less as they get cold winters. There website tells all that they cage and survives.

Yep, that is one of the ones I had read, they are a large nursery though, so they may have some crazy way of protecting them, heat tape, insane amounts of insulation lol.

If they're in Raleigh, they probably have Pat McCrory talk to them, with all of that hot air he spews out.

The plants do not survive my winters....in the back yard......tried it.

But this year I moved a few closer to the foundation of the house......great heat sink; but who knows.

In containers this plant is great; makes a great easy statement in the gardens.
