Hello everyone last year I tried to over winterize my banana plant but it died back to the ground. Does one have any ideas on how to winterize so the banana plant stays big. I'm in zone 7 in southern Virginia.

Welcome!!! I usually use plastic fencing and circle the stem and fill with grass clippings, the decaying grass clippings form a heat. I also wrap the outside with plastic. I learned this from Gardener Bill Finch who writes articles for newspaper and such over in Mobile, Al. This is how I get my Dwarfs to fruit. Not for sure if this will work in Zone 7. I'm quite a bit warmer at 8b-9. But maybe it will give you some ideas, hope this helps.

Welcome to the Jungle!!:woohoonaner:
When you can, check out Youtube for videos, you will see many cool vids on DYI type enclosures which you can build around your plants and most of them do not cost a lot to make.

I'd have an extra ten years to see the fruits of my labor.
Good job! :nanadrink:
