Found one on ebay for $399 with an 8" wide bit.
Add about $40 insured and delivered, I'm a happy camper.

NOW I know who to call to help with the hedge I want to put in. LOTS of small holes to dig.

I wonder how well that would work for deep amending?

I guess I should point out that it was brand new at that price. Not some old, beaten up machine...
Anyway, you guys are funny. :D
Get yer own HAHA
I'll be busy with my new fence, and if not that, I'll be busy finally getting all my tiki torches in the ground. And if not that, I'll be digging holes for all those palms reaching out of their containers. And when I'm done with those, I'll be digging holes for banana pups. Maybe in a year or two it'll be ready to loan out :)
Here's the link to the product at the company's store that I got mine from:
Commanche Creek (http://www.commanche-creek.com/storefrontprofiles/DeluxeSFItemDetail.aspx?sid=1&sfid=102801&c=0&i=5473657)
Keep yer grubby hands off!
Here, think of this the next time your out there digging with your toothpicks:

If you hit a rock or root, it stops and you accelerate. E-ticket ride.

Well it's got a spring on the bit to alleviate that...

Hell, I didn't want to BORROW IT. I thought you would like the practice and would come up and dig the hedge for me :D
An neighbor of mine in Ft Myers had a gas powered shovel. Long sharpshooter type. It sure made root pruning palms a lot easier.
Have fun. How are the babies? Did you get my PM on the Plumeria site?

@Terry - yes, I got your pm. Thanks for the link. Thought I replied.. but I might have been in a rush and forgot to when I returned.
I have Plumeria STACKS in my backyard. Come and get some. They're still blooming just laying there drying on the ground though. They smell delicious, too!
I can't wait for my auger!!

WHERE are you when I need you. Ha Ha
The assoc trimmed the large arbicola hedge today and I have TONS of cuttings. That's what is going in the ground for the hedge. Gonna just poke them in the ground and let them take off.

Dont feel so bad about it... it still hasn't arrived here.
Arbicola make nice hedges. Are yours a var?
I also went ahead and ordered a 3" x 36" bit so I can blast through planting these plumeria branches. The bit it will arrive with is 8" wide, good for moving potted plants into the earth, but not so good for moderately thin branches. Tho I will use that one for some of the plumeria that involves the mother trunk.
I can't wait to get my hands on it.

When I'm done, they'll write a book about me.

:goteam: Oh boy! New toy! :goteam:
Pitangadiego is correct though. Where we live, a hand-held auger is a high speed merry-go-round. :2718:
