So my plant has one leaf plus the flag leaf. Will this be enough to sustain the fruit? I have attached a picture describing it.

I would think so. As long as it has enough nutrients... I'm no expert though...

IMO, there are not enough leaves. When this happens to me, I cut the bunch and plant down. Toss in compost and let the pups go. I find the pups will grow faster once you cut down the bunch.
