So my brother in law is thinning out some of his pads and he pulled up some nice corms. However they don't seem to have "fresh" roots. If I plant these will they root out or is it a waste of time? I tried to upload pictures but had problems tonight

If you think they are a variety worth saving, then I'd throw each of them into a 15 gallon pot with some Kelloggs Patio Plus soil, water them twice per week and see what happens.

It's just that. His plants are unidentified and he's to cheap to buy fertilzer so in all reality these are unknown plants. I know he gets a burgundy flower and he claims the fruit is only 2"-3" long and the plant gets 10' - 12' tall, but that's about every variety out there if you're neglecting it
