Hi All, I am new to banana trees. this is my first summer and first banana tree. After being inside all winter I put my banana tree outside when the weather became nice. I placed in a location where it get morning sun and afternoon shade.

I noticed after placing it outside that it immediately started growing new leaves like crazy. However, the old leaves that were green when I placed it outside are now turing brown. Is this normal, what did I do to my banana tree. I am worried. can anyone give me some direction, I am very confused.

Thanks

I'd say it's normal but if the pics were there, my opinion would be more accurate...

from what you described it is normal, the old leaves are just dying off and being replaced by new ones, normal cycles of banana plant life.

As the previous posts said it is normal....
As long as the plant keeps pushing out leaves your good the older ones will brown/yellow and die.
This is my daily leaf loss, sometimes it is more or less.
When a leaf starts to turn color I chose to cut it off for aesthetics but you do not have to.

After your plant has been outside for 2-3 weeks, place it in full sun.
