Well, let me see. There is wellspring. They sell tissue cultures. They are small but I have had great luck with them. If you can't find a way to get one I might be able to order one from going bananas and send it to you. Not sure on customs though and how that works.

Basically because of the longer time required to ship here, the only way to really have success is by shipping corms/pups. Also since it takes 2-4 to get a bloom I really appreciate getting pups from members because I know exactly what cultivar Im getting. As for customs, it works by shipping USPS and not saying that you're shipping a banana plant ;-) Never had any issues other than delays.

Ya, that is true! You order an Ice Cream and wind up getting a giant cavandish! I've had that happen , it can be very frustrating for A northern grower because all the time involved in getting a bloom.

VC is not a short cycle banana in your environment unless you can afford 75 W/sq.ft. of 6400 Kelvin light 12 hours/day in a 25-40 gallon pot for 10+ months.

I basically do that about 7 months a year. I also have been experimenting with many different varieties going dormant, either bare root or in dry pots. It has been quite successful even with essentially zero light.

Sorry, must have missed your fruit reports. Can you provide links?

No fruit yet. I have several that are very close so maybe ill write you a report this winter ;-) I do have 4 years experience overwintering cold sensitive bananas though so Im confident I can do that now.

I want no surprises haha, its not worth it to find out 2-3 years later that I got the wrong type. Looking for VC and patupi. I know they're circulating around now, anyone got any pups?

I have both those plants. Mine are too small to have pups. If I were closer I would try to make something happen next year. Do you have any org buddies in Florida? Florida growers should have anything you are looking for. I wish it wasn't so difficult to get plants to you. I wish you good luck.
