Hey guys. New to the forum and growing bananas. I live in central Indiana and bought a Dwarf Cavendish as something fun to grow in the classroom with my students earlier this summer. Now that school is coming to an end, I'm planning on taking it home so it can enjoy some outside time. I am trying to decide if I want to transplant it to a new, larger pot, or place it in the ground. If I plant it in the ground, am I able to dig it up and pot it before it gets too cold?

Welcome to Bananas.org.
Very nice looking plant. I would probably plant it in the ground. Not sure when your cold season starts, but you will have to dig it up then, possibly some elbow grease involved. :)

Welcome aboard,
pull up a chair and have some fun learning.
I wouldn't. It will be stressed enough from changing environments... I'm far from being an expert though!

I vote to plant it! worked for me. I had a 4 year old SDC that I kept in a big pot and moved it in and out, last year I finally put it in the ground for the summer and now it's in the basement flowering.

Welcome to the forum.
You should have plenty of time to get it into the ground and enjoy it over the summer. There are many threads on here, as to how you should go about taking it back out and storing over the winter.

Welcome to the Jungle.......:woohoonaner:
Plant it in a container 3x the size it is in.
Put the container in a spot you like in your landscape....and enjoy.
Your plant will pup like crazy once it gets established.
