Hi all, I see many of you are in central florida area as well. Nice to know we can grow bananas successfully here!

I've had a Blue ice cream growing for about 1 year. It's pretty tall, mostly healthy looking but has never fruited. It now has 3 small suckers around it, probably about 6" tall. Obviously I really want fruit, am I just not fertilizing enough or any suggestions to get it fruiting? I've been using the Organic Fruit Fuel, but based on Richard's posting, I may be completely underdosing it, giving it about a tablespoon per week in Zone 9.

Also, I've read that once it fruits, I should cut it down and leave the best sucker in its place as it won't fruit again, is that true?

Thanks in advance for any help! And I look forward to meeting some of you!

Welcome aboard,
pull up a chair and have some fun learning.

And yes it is true, they will only produce fruit one time per plant.
