I bought a VC back in November when I visited the wonderful place Going Bananas in Florida. I planted it in a pot when I got home and even indoors too close to a window it withered to my surprised. Then I moved it to my warmest room on the second floor and it came back and now has 3 leaves.
Here is my question, I live in Texas and expect a growing season until mid November. If I put it in the ground will it have enough time to grow and flower, it is now 1 foot in a pot indoors and I am taking it out this weekend. Either for planting outside or stay in a pot for now. This is not a TC it has a nice Corm so I hope it can grow quite fast, just don't know if it will be fast enough.
Am I better off keeping it in a pot and aim for next year? I have to keep it indoors otherwise it won't survive winter that is clear. Last year I tried it in a cool garage and it rotted fast.
Or... Can I plant it in the ground and would it be able to flower by July so I could get fruit by October November?
Appreciate advice from experienced VC growers.
Thanks
