Haha thnx cincinnana!

Here is another Cool tolerant plant to add to your list.
Most of your plants mentioned will not tolerate frost but will tolerate cooler temps.

Hi Jeff. Welcome to the forums. As far as I know, Musa basjoo is the only nanner that will take the freezing temps, but I may be wrong. I'm still in the early stages myself.

Well, I take that back. I see now that the Mekong giant will take freezing temps as well. I may just have to get me one of those!

Hi snarkie, thnx
I know that musa sikkimensis can grow here aswell! And i read that some people kept m. Velutina with success in zone 8 if i'm right. And most winters here arn't to bad, most times if it freezes bad here its -5/-8 but that is seldom. We've got a maritme climate here. I think with night time frosts we had -3 so it isn't to bad;-) but a couple years ago we had a real bad winter with -18/-20! So sometimes you can be caught by supprise:-(

Yeah, that's what's happened in my area as well. Until last year, it occasionally hit the 20s, with one or two nights a year getting into the upper teens. Then last year, we had two nights of single digits and again this year as well. It put a real hurting on everyone's palms around here.
