Sorry guys, don't know how to reply to everyone who said hello to me. Thanks to all for making me welcome.

My Musa Basjoo are doing really good - fingers crossed - this winter. 4 plants. Stems about 5ft tall (leafless) with NO protection. Looking forward to extra large plants this season.

Have a new (2ft) musa sikkimensis in the greenhouse. Looking to plant out in spring. Any advice for this relevant to East Yorkshire, UK? Treat as Basjoo?

Also, any advice regarding sowing Musa balbisiana seed? Been checking google last few days, just looking for any special expert advice.

Last thoughts: I keep a musa ensete maurelii cut down and indoors over winter. Mines alive and now re-growing - but only just. Any better methods than the cupboard under the stairs?

Cheers all
Col

Mine like yours is "under the stairs" doing good though!!!
Some of the other foruM members do overwinter them in their basements with awesome results. Do a forum search.
The plants that you will find are bigger than your house>>>>>> and mine:woohoonaner:
