What is the benifit,if any, of spreading dried crushed egg shells through rows of banana plants? now and then its good to apply a light layer of lime right?- Will the egg shells be a lime sustitute?
What is the benifits ,if any of spreading egg shells around rose bushes?

I know that if you have blossom end rot with tomatoes, egg shells are great for that cause they are full of calcium.

Using Eggshells in the Garden
The calcium from eggshells is also welcome in garden soil, where it moderates soil acidity while providing nutrients for plants. Eggshells contain such an abundance of calcium that they can be used almost like lime, though you would need a lot of eggshells to make a measurable impact. By the time they are well ground, it takes 150 eggshells to make a cup of coarse eggshell powder.
