I am searching to buy a quantity of plantain banana seeds-hopefully I can find 100 seeds at a good price!! I have been raising bananas since 1959-1960 I now have about 28 bananas of two different varieties and by the end of this next summer I hope to develop several hundred more and I am always looking for more varieties but for now I am looking for the cooking bananas. Does anyone know a source of the fruit flavored hybrid varieties that came out in the 80s and 90s?

Cooking bananas have no seeds, nor can they be grown from seed. They are propagated by corm or tissue culture. Any sellers offering seeds for edible cooking bananas are a scam artist.
For wholesale quantities of plantain tissue culture contact AgriStarts (http://www.agristarts.com).

To make everyone understand how important my swamp environmental project is I have inserted some photos into this website-they do not show the bananas that I planted here but show a large area covering about 100 acres of drainage swamp that has a steady supply of water from the city drainage system

If plantain banana seeds do not exist then how and where could I obtain about 50-100 of the pups and how much would they weigh for shipping?? I have an ideal location nearby to grow and develop many hundreds or even thousands of bananas and cooking bananas of many varieties and this would be an ideal location to really do something about the "bad air zones"

I think Richard has given the answer to those questions. There are others who do the same but I think you will find Richard a good sores of information.

Go with banana they're more cold hardy than plantains
It looks like they have some available. :goteam:

I like your project, David. It's reminiscent of what I'm doing with dawn redwoods in the Appalachians.
