Did not get Bananas on one of my trees last year. Should I still cut it back?
What zone are you in? What kind of plants are you growing?

No. Why would you want to do that?

I was to understand to cut back every year after winter.
I don't cut my banana plants back until they produce bananas. Some of my banana plants (reds) take years to produce bananas. I would leave them if you want the fruit. :banana_ba

No.
I only trim completely dead leaves or if there is mushy frost damage. Other than that: leave it alone and cut the p-stem after you have harvested a nice fruit bunch.

There is never any reason to remove anything green from a banana plant, never.

I did get Bananas on Orionoco the year before but too late in year and they did not rippen.
Looking at maybe our first freeze this year and still no fruit.
Do you recommend a fert.?
I have Raja Puri, Goldfinger's, and Dwarf Brazilian's bananas that have been on my plants for months. I'm still waiting for them to fill in. I'm not a expert, but if the fruit looks okay it should be left on the plant until it fills and turns yellow it doesn't matter how long that takes. :banana_ba

I went all out on winterizing this year and just got everything needed to mix my own naner fertilizer. I'm gonna put out the effort this year. I have enough Dwarf Namwah and Raja Puri now around in my yard so I sure hope it happens. Everything's pretty dead right now and yard looks like a bomb went off. I hope to uncover my babies around mid or early March.
