All I see is seeds for sale and most have bad luck germinating those. Have surfed all over the net. This plant is also called "Dinosaur Food". I found one on EBAY a couple of years ago, no luck so far there.

They aren't really common for sale even at nurseries in the Pacific Northwest were they grow well. I see you are in the Atlanta area and the sad fact is that they just can't take that kind of summer heat. A few folks have tried and failed in your area. You could try Pike's Nursery. They have some unusual stuff but it's still a long shot. You could ask and see if they might order one from you with the next nursery order that they make from a wholesale nursery in Oregon. If you just want a cool plant with massive leaves a better choice for your area would be Colocasia 'Thailand Giant'. Those are very cool, love the heat, and might even overwinter in the ground in Atlanta.

Yep, I understand they can be tricky but I was going to baby it and keep my fingers crossed. I do have the Thai Giant and man they get HUGE! So far it has over wintered well here. I cut them off at the ground and pile about 2' of pine straw on top. I treat my Basjoos the same way and in the Fall they are over 25'!
Thanks for your input....

Maybe a mist system on a timer could help one through the hottest parts of the day. That's something I had considered. Not only would the water cool the plant but it might block a bit of the brightest light. The more Seattle-ish the better.
