Today I cut off corm rot from one of my dwarf reds. Even after cutting off the rot there is black/gray spots that go into the corm. There were fire ants that built a nest around this plant. Is this additional rot/corm damage or is this a normal healthy corm? I have never had to cut off rot before so I don't know what I am seeing. I have attached pictures below with one picture circling what my question is directed at:

Go to postimage.org and upload your picture and then when you create a post/thread, copy and paste the uploaded forum one link.

Spider Mites have once again hit my dwarf banana tree. I have had the tree almost 2 years. The poor thing came to me almost dead, my husband got it for me as a mothers day gift. I have given it alot of TLC. the first time the mites hit the tree it started to grow some young starters. We treaded them and all the plants we had together, everyone lived thru the first round of mites.
