I have never hear of sulphate of potash, I have only heard of muriate of potash. I have never used that in my pots but only in the ground, and I have always been able to apply it liberally. The purpose of the muriate of potash is to increase fruit production. And I have always applied it without measure at all. But still I have not heard of sulphate of potash. Muriate of potash is literally 0-0-60 which is totally fruit production.

SOP is much finer, water soluable and 0-0-50 - apply as liguid - mix with MG water soluable fert to make your own nana fuel - it is available at https://www.kelp4less.com/
VS.
MOP which is granular, not very soluable, and 0-0-60 - available locally at feed stores/nurserys - mix with other granular ferts to make your own nana fuel or apply as side dressing.

Sorry - i don't do potted nanas - but fert and water this time of year is probably a BAD idea....

As in your first post ....Miracle grow will work for you..
Your plant is also too small to "special mix your ferts".....read the forums for new plants planted .....this will help you.
Also for a Basjoo you want exceptional foliage not fruit so this fert is not really needed.
Basjoo fruit is not the best on the planet.

This stuff will give you the growth you need ...(miracle grow)

Your plants are small .....do not overfeed them.....
Special nutriment regiments at that size are not needed....Just treat your plant like a regular houseplant

Get them to ten feet then add a quarter pound or so to your mat... then repost and we will go from there ......

Hi Snarkie - just my opinion - nanas are dormant below 50 F and don't benefit from fert - wet corms and cold weather causes root rot and kills the plant. But if the plant is potted and in a warm sunny environment a litte fert is probably ok.

MOP (Muriate of Potash) is 2% Chlorine -- which over time will kill plants.

To answer the original question:
If your Miracle Grow has an NPK of 10-10-10, then the mixing ratio would be 0.1 Lbs of SOP for each 1 Lbs of Miracle Grow.

New leaves on both plants, so I guess they're still growing! It doesn't get below the mid 60's most times, and 52 when it dropped into the low teens.

Thanks for the info!
