Its an ae' ae'.
Were you trying to write a'ea'e? ;-)
Anyway, Manini is the more common name, especially if you're going to say it in the real world.

I believe that's a'ea'a in Hawaian. "Ah eh ah eh".

After having just completed my Hawaiian language midterm, these days I now know how to pronounce Hawaiian words.
Ae Ae (a hawaiian word, correctly spelled a'ea'e) is pronounced AH-EYA-EH, like a quick slurring of ah-eh ah-eh, although most of the time in Hawaiian its very hard to distinguish different sounds anyways.
This is my first go at it, please let me know if it downloads correctly. These pronunciations are how I use them and how I have heard/ think they should/might sound, they are therefore probably not all correct, but its a good start. The files are in MP3, if thats a problem for you (although it shouldn't) I can easily convert them into another file type.

Your frozen tundra seems like the nightmare, anything under 70 °F is too cold. ;-)

I hear that! It's been dipping down to 67 overnight lately in Hawaii. That means winter bedding and t-shirt instead of tank tops. Brrrrr!

They are considered "Pacific plantains" and are more of a cooking banana. They are also decent out of hand when very ripe. My old taste report: http://www.bananas.org/f2/aeae-tasting-report-ripe-out-hand-17601.html#post215508

They are bananas not plantains, not even close to the quality of a plantain but taste better than a Hua Moa.
