Two members of this forum recently gave me some seeds of an Allegheny chinquapin/unspecified chinese chestnut hybrid from a fellow member of the Southern fruit Fellowship which recently had an annual meeting. Does anyone have any knowledge of these hybrid trees? I plan on putting them if they germinate next to some dunstan chestnut trees that are doing well on my place after I clear a little more land. The individual seeds are similar in size to those of a typical acorn and so are a little bit bigger than what is typically seen in the Allegheny Chinquapin.
