Longwoods Tropicals

I've just wrapped up transplanting my garden bananas and other tropicals into containers. They'll sit by the windows in my sun porch, a couple of compact fluorescents will help out.

Here's a big Maurelli moments before defoliation and transplanting.

Good thing I have a accommodating spouse, I have to stop procrastinating and build that damned wood stove fueled winter conservatory.

I see we've got some high 20's for overnight temps later this week. I'm going to have to deal with the basjoo in the next couple days.

Last winter I did what you did, Longwoods. But this year my grow area is already full, so I'll have to figure out how to dry-store the corms for next season. Interesting to see what my Ensete is going to look like in a year or two...

Thanks for the photos!

Mine too.
If I can, I try to do it in phases. Which is also less shocking when the spouse comes home to find only part of a jungle has appeared in one day.
