I have a large banana and I think its a DC. I had it in a pot inside for several months and it was doing really well until all of a sudden it became infested with spider mites. I finally had to trim off several leaves in order to try and get rid of the mites. The banana seemed to be getting droopy and I finally decided to plant it outside. It has been outside for about two weeks now but it seems like it is slowly rotting. The whole plant has turned brown and today I really took a close look at it and it's even worse. It's really spongy, and seems like it's getting rotten. I have always been careful not to over water and I cant figure out why the plant is rotting like this. Any ideas what is going on? I tried to trim some of the rotten plant off today and now all I have left is the trunk. Its about 4 ft tall and about 6 in in diameter. Its super spongy and almost wet like its holding a bunch of water inside. Thanks for any feedback.
