I'm not sure what species this banana plant it but the banana height to the leaf tips is about 6ft. It had 2 pups pop out last month along with 2 short leaves. I have had problems with mealy bugs and ants that I have recently gotten rid of. Is the plant fruiting or another stressed leaf? Can it recover? Thankshttp://www.bananas.org/gallery/watermark.php?file=56869&size=1 (http://www.bananas.org/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=56869)

Keep us updated with photos. It looks like a nice plant. I thought it could be a flower because the leaf on the right side looks so small. I didn't know stress could make the banana leaves that small. :waving:

For some reason I can't upload pictures to my gallery now so I made a video of what I now believe for sure is the flower blooming. I also wanted to know what you guys think these black spots are on most of the bananas now and some dying, leaves turning yellow quickly, and slow growth for some. Looks like my cannas are having the same issue. I had a mealy bug and ant problem that I solved with sevin dust spray and neem oil. I live in central florida with sandy soil and have sprinklers going off twice a day. Could this be over watering and fungis? What can I do to get them healthy again? Thanks

Some of my namwa leaves do that also, I havent figured out to stop it. They do seem to be sending a lot of sword suckers
