Hi there,
My title kind of says it all. At my local grocery stores, I can find regular bananas and the red bananas.
I wouldn't mind trying out a few other types like Ice Cream, Manzano, Cali Gold, Namwah....
Can anyone recommed where I can order some fruits to sample? Some place that ships would be nice as I live in Pennsylvania.
Thanks
Erik G

Check some ethnic food stores.
Asian markets as well as hispanic stores here usually carry Manzano, Orinoco and Namwah fruits.

thanks, I've been keeping my eyes open at the mexican / indian / and korean markets. I guess my area isn't very 'diverse' for fruit.

there is a company out of miami florida that will ship fruits especially bananas called miamifruit.org, they are a bit pricey but the quality is awesome

You won't likely find Orinoco anywhere because they are called burro pretty much everywhere they are sold. Many hispanic markets will have them. I won't ship fruits anymore because the last 2 times I did they took way too long to arrive even though I used 3 day priority. The last one would have arrived perfect but I was told it took so long and got so bad that the box was delivered in a plastic bag because of the leaking. That one was 6 days late for a total of 9 days in route.

I ordered this https://www.melissas.com/Banana-Sampler-p/59.htm and they arrived under ripe but are ripening nicely in a fruit bowl. The price is much more reasonable than miami fruit and though they appear to have come from a local grocery store they look pretty good although I do not know how to tell if the red ones are ripe.

Very cool! Enjoy them in a few days! The soy grocery markets near me like whole foods, trader joes, mccaffreys, and wegmans carry red bananas and burro.
I did buy from miami fruit several years ago - totally not worth the price. I ordered a few items besides banana (monsterra and some asian fruits). Nothing was impressive. I'd rather save my money for a plane ticket to FL and eat stuff on vacation!
