Hey guys,

I need to identify these two Bananas. (sorry for the pic quality I got asked what sort they are)

Info for the first:
Bought at the DIY-Market
3-4 years old
I guess it is and has been in bad or not good conditions all the time

http://thumbs.picr.de/19554363kc.jpg (http://show.picr.de/19554363kc.jpg.html) http://thumbs.picr.de/19554364vj.jpg (http://show.picr.de/19554364vj.jpg.html)

The Market-Sign says Musa dwarf cavendish (Bananarama) - Zwerg Essbanane (last two are "Dwarf eadable banana")

Second Banana:
Also bought in the DIY-Market
2 1/2 to 3 years old
Conditions would have been the same as plant 1 so bad or at least not good

No sign for this one :/

Here are my guesses:
First does look like a Cavendish var. But since it is the same age as my Dwarf Cavendish im not so much sure if its realy a DC Because it still has the redish marks. I'd rather say its Grand Nain?! It's about 1m tall.

On the second I'm puzzled. Its much taller (not sure but i think not more than 1,5m)

Here in Germany I think Dwarf Cavendish and Basjoo is found in the DIY-Stores mostly..

What do you guys think?

here is an update with new pics.. can anyone help ID?

first the small ones labeled as Dwarf Cavendish (could be right after all, thought they were more like Grand Nain because too much red but learned that it also could be much red because of nutrient availability)

Here the second one (not labeled bought in germany DIY-Store so might be Cavendish or Basjoo) what do you think?

One thing is for sure,if you would like to see better growth they need to be in a BIGGER container.they would be much happier.....:0519:

is this basjoo? well i am not sure..

Seriously? Why not introducing yourself first in the introduction section before jumping on a post like this.
Do you grow anything?

Sorry boffcheck, I have no idea what your plants are and would not have posted in your thread, but clutter posts like the quoted one are annoying to me. Hope you get the answer you are looking for from someone who is sure....

That was the first advice for Lisa (the owner) the pics in my Second post were after repotting.

The small ones do look like Grand Nain, the large one is certainly not Basjoo, doesn't look like the Cavendish family either as the leaves should be more paddled shape plus should have, thicker stumpy p-stem, looks to me like dwarf Orinoco.

Grand Nain was my first thought too.. But im so confused keeping DC and Musa Grand Nine apart.. I grow them side by side.. Mine look totaly different to the Plants i posted..

Could anyone tell me how to tell them apart besides to wait for the flower? ^^

Dwarf Orinoco is refering to the Wiki an ABB type.. so should there be close mid-rips (sry dont know the right word atm) or anything that identify it better?

If you need any close pictures just tell me I tell the owner to take them.
