Need some input concerning cutting from a cold hardy banana I recently planted. It was about 4 ft. tall when I cut from the main tree. It looked good until the 2nd day when it began to droop. 3rd day and it is still drooping. It is located in an area where it gets sun about 6 to 8 hours a day while the mother plant is in an where it gets sun for nearly 12 hours. Could that be the reason?

Well I guess I can help answer this question. Any pup will wilt for a while when cut from the mother plant and replanted - especially a four foot one! In my experience - how long it continues to wilt (and how soon it begins to put out new leaves) will depend on how much of a root system it had when you split it off and how much leaf surface is out there in that 6-8 hrs of sun. I find that living in the shade is a happy thing for pups forming new roots. Good luck!
