I was considering growing my plants indoor. Wondering if anyone has used sodium or halide for bannanas.Total canopy area would be around 50 sq ft.They would be grown in soiless mix.Any thoughts on water and fertilizer amounts? Thanks,Dave.

I use cfls for a few plants that are in a soilesss mix.
Light water and fert for me.
For me keeping them under lights in the winter is just holding them over till spring. I do not expect incredible growth.
There are countless threads in these forums which I got some of my info.
Youtube is a good source for setups and DYI stuff.
I made some dyi stuff last year that worked out well using bathroom lightbars and 16 100 watt daylight cfls.
Cfls are more cost effective for me.
You will invest more money with a metal halide or sodium setup.

Thanks for the input.CFLs are the way togo as I just want to maintain, with minimal growth.Moneywise halides and sodium are energy pigs. If money was no problem I would go that route. Looks like Im off on the cfl trail .Thanks

Here is a creative way to use that ceiling fan in a spare bedroom.
3x300watt output daylight 6500k cfls @68watts each
Normal household room temp used nothing special.
no dirt no mess clean setup

And sometimes I forget to turn them on:)
