View Full Version : Remove pups; I think I did it right...

I finally got up the nerve to try cutting off some of the pups from my banana plant and pot them up. I used a garden spade at an angle so the cut pup will have some of the corn and roots with it. I then filled the hole where the pups were with composted cow manure to help the mother plant. I potted the three groups of pups with a mixture of potting mix, peat moss and composted cow manure in equal amounts. I set all three pots in a mostly shady location for a couple of days to help with the transplant shock. Did I do it all correctly?
I still do not know what kind of banana this is. I am told it’s either a Musa Acuminta “Zebrina” or a Dwarf Cavendish. I guess if I ever can get them to bloom, you all will be able to help me figure it out. Thanks. Red

Yep those are Zebrinas, not DC.
Not edible though! Have a look at the wiki page about them
