View Full Version : Unknown cavendish - flowers in 2 pstems

Hi. My first planted banana (4 yrs ago) that is beleived to be a cavendish type is flowering again.
Now the pstem height is ~2.7m and i have managed to keep it with only 3 pstems, by carefully removing the new pups every few days.
In the past it fruited 3 times - and all of them without success. Fruits never got filled and developed in size!
First time the pstem was damaged by wind, and other 2 times it flowered in end of winter when the plant was very weak.
This time, i think i have take good care with fertilization etc and the time is perfect: I have at least 4 months before cold.

Now the thing that puzzles me: the second pstem is going to have flower too - with one week difference!
It seems that this plant and i we never go through smoothly!
Will this affect the quality of my first flower?

Both plants have many green leaves - maybe more than 12 per plant.

Congrats!,the plants look very healthy.I think with the proper care you have given them you should get a decent bunch on BOTH plants.Keep us updated!
