Maiden sucker was removed in a way that left it's pup connected to Granny.

If the mamma was removed, how was the pup connected to the granny? If they were connected would the granny then actually be the mamma?

The Maiden sucker removed was the dominant sucker and after it's removal it's conduit remained dominant. It's a bit amazing to see how quickly it's former pup is growing now.

Interesting. I wonder if the maiden suckers remaining corm will send out more pups or it just acts like a nutrient highway to the grandchild pup? So many questions...

After reading your post, I almost want to dig it up again and take photos.

It would certainly make things clear if you did. How did you remove that pups dominance, looks pretty intact? Peg? Or spear down?
