Guys, as a newer member, I thank all of you for the responses to posts!
Question.. The first picture is supposed to me Mekong giant, and the second basjoo. Does this seem correct?
Thanks

Welcome. I don't have any experience with MG but they both kind of look like basjoos, second one definately is.

Thanks I thought they looked a lot alike! But what can tell tell the Mekong?
I've got Saba that were planted at the same time and are so much bigger! Not sure if size matters?😱

Saba will be much thicker than either basjoo or MG. MG should be taller than basjoo, but im not sure about the colouring or petioles, etc.

Second one is for sure a Basjoo, MG develops a purplish hue to the trunk, and also has a purplish hue to the underside of the leaves similar to musa sikkimensis. Basjoo has winged petioles while MG doesnt or is greatly reduced, looks like you have two Basjoo. Saba is a different genetic group, the veins in the leaves are less pronounced. Might have a little fine line of red on the leaf edge, and color is a bit more blueish green.
