It is a very tasty banana, much better than burro

The skinny mother plant on the left, only produced a 91 lb. bunch.

Hopefully the pup produces a larger bunch.

Had my first taste of one today, grown locally. 1 day and they'll be even better. Another good one!

This is one of my favorite bananas to eat and grow right now. Ours has no issues with fungus. Beautiful, stout plant.

How long before it blooms! Or maybe at what height?

We planted Sweetheart, Goldfinger, and Kandrian at the same time in the same location. The Sweetheart is the only one that bloomed within the first 9 months. I think the bloom height was around 8' for ours.

Good, then I have a chance. My Sweetheart was +7 feet when I pulled it into the garage over winter and hopefully now that it is back I the ground and 4 new leaves it might bloom soon. In Texas I noticed that unless they bloom by July 4 they really don't have time to mature before frost vibes...

SpamI don't think so. Spam is a cross between pork shoulder and ham. Typical habit resembles a closed steel container. Bananas do not come in cans.

Plant crop pseudostem was a little over 8 feet.

Peduncle/rachis/bud was a little under 9 feet.

Both FHIA-03 Sweetheart were grown on the same small island, the NW plant retained the withered male bracts while the bracts on the SE plant fell off naturally.

Are they both really FHIA-03 Sweethearts or was one mislabeled?

The bunch on the ground was over 60 lbs. not bad for the plant crop.

Are they both really FHIA-03 Sweethearts ?
