This is a before photo........Anxiously awaiting the after pic. Raining here off and on; I was going down to the river to watch fireworks and fish but doubt they'll be going off. Arthur left a nice mess here; I like the rain!

BTW, I went fishing with Mr. Cocoa's husband and wife friends on Monday at some place near the Cape. Rose's reel never screamed but she pulled in a flounder and a snapper; I was so surprised because she was just gently playing her line and then there they were coming out on of the water. They were under sized so tossed back. The guys got their bait stolen several times; they were too busy talking I guess. We were all discouraged but a few hours into the excursion my rod bailed with a mud minnow went nuts! The guy fishing beside us said I needed help; Mr. Cocoa said I didn't because I'd handle it or not.

Which I did.

Those nights using fried chicken for bait paid off; I learned how to hook a fish. Even if it was just 3 catfish then...

Snapper, barely legal size, was beyond delicious that night.

Forgot the wine and fireworks......I see wine and sparklers on that table. Where did you go that you forgot fireworks? Lots of noise on the river. We watched 2 maybe 3 official displays and a lot more that were probably not sanctioned but quite impressive. Best 2 shows I ever saw was when I lived in Ohio and the next door neighbor's son spent a bundle on "bangers". Sitting on a lawn chair in the back yard sipping a cold one with a very private show was fun. Cleaning up what came onto our 8 acres wasn't that bad but sometimes we found more "things" in October. (And I'll bet we didn't find them all.).

Most interesting 4 th of July fireworks here in San Diego was in 2012 : the Big Bay Boom.
7,000 fireworks intended for a 17- minute show at 5 different locations discharged prematurely and simultaneously. Everything exploded in about 15 seconds. Everything was blamed on a computer system. We thought "Wow, what a great start". But 15 seconds, that was it.
