That's incredible! Before your threads, I didn't realize VC's even had the potential to be so productive. You have single-handedly changed my view of this cultivar.
Very impressive. Well done.

Incredible.
I'm pretty happy with all this coming back of veinte cohol recently. After the first years it looked like many people didn't grow it anymore. It's nice to see that it can give so good results.

Awesome! The most we ever had was 102 on a ladyfinger. Congrats

I agree with Greenfin. I had no idea VC could provide such a yield. Nice job.

I'm very impressed and envious. You grow some impressive bananas.
Are you growing Rose? Seems like if anyone could get that one to make lots of properly filled in fruit, it would be you. My Rose bananas essentially don't fill.

I've got a Rose too, and i would be interested in that info too. Just out of curiosity: in fact I'm trowing that plant away anyway. It simply doesn't like my cold climate.

Does anyone know how VC tastes compared to the mini grocery store bananas?

If itʻs Sucrier, then itʻs a toss up. VC are good also. Different.

Just noticed this post of yours. My Rose didn't really fill in properly either. I'm hoping my next bunch and the VC I'm growing will do better.

It's good to know that yours filled just as quickly as mine did. Mine shot May 20 and I harvested July 7.

Is the VC a dessert banana or a cooking banana?
How would you rate it against other varieties that you grow?

I canīt see the pics! Is it only me?
My Dwarf Namwah seems to be doing well. If it resists its first winter, I might feel tempted to try new varietes... And Iīm reading all the time that Veinte Cohol is quite cold resistant, like D. Namwah.
This photos might just be another reason to get one of my own hahaha :ha::ha:

It's not cold hardy, but its small stature allows it to fit in a pot indoors over winter better than other dwarfs..

I think if you started a plant in the greenhouse in October up north, you could plant it in the field by march and harvest a crop by the next fall.

Nope, I have a picture of a hand. Baloy is on the right, it was 34mm. The bunch was only about 15lbs. It had 6 hands.

Did you post photos of your bunch or any data?
Top hand 37mm.

todayi picked up two small (12") vc plants in 5 " pots and am planning on doing almost exactly that.
i'm planning on planting them in 5 gallon buckets of rich soil tomorrow (still september) and bringing it into the greenhouse before cold weather. then planting it out in the ground early spring here "up north" in jefferson county florida.
i expect that with rich soil and plenty of feeding (in the 5 gal bucket and foliar) with plenty of n and k, they should be big enough to hit the ground running in the spring. at least that's the plan. i'll see how it works as it goes along.
