A question:

I have a planted area now out in the yard with my Musa Basjoo/Zebrina corms as well as several Colocasia/Elephant Ears.

It is slowly (despite mulch and plucking) being overrun by Creeping Charlie.

Are there any good sprays, herbicides, concoctions that I could spray on the CC without hurting my bananas?

(I am literally at base level here, I have never used even round-up before, I always just pluck or weed-eat but I'm at my wit's end!)

20 mule team Borax, no need for something that will really hurt your banana's..

You can cut off the CC to a 2 or 3" stem them carefully paint full strength RU or a generic on the open wounds; it's tedious but, since it's a systemic poison, it will only kill the target plant. Use a Que tip or fine brush; you can coat the sides but the cut is where you want to concentrate your efforts.

When I landscaped in Ohio we sprayed beds full of thistles (and not other good plants or very few) with the diluted version because you're on the clock so have to broadcast; when just a sapling or stray weed was involved, we treated it directly with FS stuff. (Saplings 1 to 2" wide required several doses which is the reason to leave the taller stem--fresh cut on the miscreant every time we treated.)

Is that the couple teaspoons per quart technique? Will it harm the bananas? Or do I take efforts to avoid them while spraying the Charlie?

At that dose and the limited amount you'd use I don't think it would have any effect except maybe to the positive, if you low on boron.. :^)
