I also planted some E-ears this year, curious about them myself.

This is what I have seen.....
Florida Alocasia/Colocasia full sun lots of water enormous growth.
South Carolina ......same...... lots of water, heavy feeder.
Kentucky.....absolute monsters

Ohio (me) Alocasisa/Colocasia/Malangas/Taros/Aroids...I grow them in containers with oversized water catching saucers each hold 1- 3 gallons of water
They are slow out of dormancy from my basement.

Easy to overwater and cause corm rot during no growth period...early spring.

But once these plants get going(my plants) they will need lots of water and fert.

Mine will absorb five gallons of water in a two days no problem.
My plants are on a drip line and in containers:) and will suck up every bit of moisture that is left over.
I trimmed and repotted many of these yesterday
ARRRRG.
And if they are really happy plants you will get a flower.
These plants give a real tropical look to your garden.
I have purchase many varieties of my plants at a local Asian food store ....yes they are a food source.

60 to 80% sun would be good for the Thai Giant. They are impressive when they get big.
