View Full Version : What pest eats basil?
I put in some little transplants yesterday. This morning I noticed a "hole" (animal footprint I'd suspect) by the rosemary. The top of a 3" basil was cut off; leaves left behind. This is in a cement block so not directly in the ground. That and the obvious disturbance in new mulch/compost leaves me thinking animal. Or do I have a wannabee gourmand cutworm? BTW, Mr. Cocoa chased an armadillo around last week 2 nights in a row; he kicked him so could it be revenge?

Or he misses playing football.. lol :^)I've been informed that steel toed boots should be worn if you want to kick them; crocs are inadequate protection. :ha:

Every time I find something not eaten but damaged, it ends up being a coon.
They have chewed new banana pups, pineapples, bell pepper plants ( not the peppers), etc... They don't seem to eat anything, just damage stuff!
