Some of the berries on my place are finally maturing: White mulberries on a tree planted last year, Mulberries on other trees, GOUMI berries, some of the wild blackberry are ready. The white mulberries are not yet bothered so much by the birds, but one of my White English dogs has discovered they are edible and her job is to protect my fruit trees. Seems to be a conflict of interest there. Soon the rest of the mulberries and cultivated blackberries will followed. After them will be the earlier blueberries and then the chickasaw plums. I will have a gap until I figure out something for my gulf series plums and finally get nectarines to prosper. Then come my early Joy apples followed by my early hood pears. In the future I hope to be setup with more earlier maturing fruits. With luck from May to end of November I should have something that I can pick fresh each day, maybe even some ice cream bananas this year.
I will have to go back and check, but this year there were sufficient chill hours to flower my sweet cherries and I will see what is growing on them now.
