So the first banana plant I purchased and planted last year was a Gran Nain. Since then I've learned that Gran Nain is not an ideal variety for Southern California.
I want to dig up the Gran Nain and replant it into a container and put a Dwarf Namwah in ground where the Grain Nain is currently growing.
When I dig up the Gran Nain how much of the current root system should I try to dig up? I'm assuming since the plant has been in the ground for a year the roots have grown out a good distance and are probably too extensive to fit into a container.
I appreciate any feedback you guys can offer.
