For the last 3-4 years I have been working on the development of a water-soluble fertilizer and a 100% organic fertilizer for fruiting plants -- including bananas. I have now completed work on both.
Through various conversations on this site, I believe that most people on Bananas.org understand that what you put in your soil is important, and the quantities of those ingredients is equally important. It is somewhat akin to the situation of making sourdough bread from scratch.
If you are satisfied with the results you are achieving with your current program then I see absolutely no reason to change what you are doing! If however you would like to try something different, here are the two products I personally developed which are now produced by a major US manufacturer:
Grow More Organic Fruit Fuel
Grow More Water-Soluble Fruit Fuel

Wow.
I am thinking on trying both fertilizers side by side on the two "Temple Bananas" i got from you. Should be interesting.
Thanks for all your hard work, time and money you have put into these products.

I'm going to give it a go too. My banana needs help and my lemons.

Richard, I just received my 25lb bag of Fruit Fuel. I didn't realize it ships from Oceanside. Could I have just picked it up to save on shipping? Too late now anyway. I'm getting somewhat conflicting information from the website vs the instructions on the bag for dosage. For container grown bananas, would you recommend application once a weak or once per month, and how much per gallon / per plant. Thanks.

Richard I'm very interested in purchasing your product just wondering whether I should go with the Organic or water soluble. I'm fairly new to bananas still. I'm growing Dwarf Brazilian and Manzano and have yet to have either produce. I live in Ventura so the weather is fairly mild and I have very poor sandy soil which I've been bolstering with my own compost. Thanks much for your time, can't wait to try out Fruit Fuel!

The water soluble is faster acting and more finely tuned in terms of secondary and micronutrients.

I recommend you follow the directions on the website. The instructions on the bag are for large scale agriculture.

How often do you fertilze with fruit fuel? Is it a once a week with watering or just a few times a year?

Both of these guides contain dosages:

For a Newb..as myself..this fertilizing can be pretty confusing. Im afraid to add too much and cause damage...or not enough and not experience any benefit.

I've been using a tablespoon per gallon on my mature plants. Just a word of caution, I had a few beers one day on feed day. Any juvenile plants that got a full dose had problems. Cut your dose back to 1/2 or 1/3 and it works fine.
For my tc's I throw 1 tablespoon to a 5 gallon bucket only after the tc gets going and starts to take off

I believe that 1 tablespoon per gallon is the recommended monthly feeding rate. For outdoor container plants, I have been using 1/2 tbsp per gallon every 2 weeks with good results. Even on the pups. Anything in a container prefers more frequent, diluted fertilizer due to constant leaching out of the bottom of the pot every time you water. Bananas also preffer acidic soil, especially AeAe. So adding some humic acid as well will benefit if you have high PH, hard water like here in Southern California.

... Bananas also preffer acidic soil, ...
The Fruit Fuel is buffered, so that under most conditions when added to water it will set the pH around 6-6.4. By employing fertigation, you will use less fertilizer in the long run and nearly maintain constant pH in the soil.
