Just finished eating the first fruit from the dwarf papaya some bird planted.
The plant is about 4', the fruit was 5 lbs and the flesh was very light orange somewhat clear.
First Sad - The fruit tasted better and grew faster than the commercial variety I'm growing.
Second Sad - The flying fert factory only planted one.
Third Sad - It was seedless, WTF.

Not for me, but maybe someday it'll be funny.
I hoping the next one has a seed or seeds.

I am now confused. . .
You are sad because you got a free, fast growing, awesome tasting, seedless plant!?!
(Can't you propagate with cuttings?)

Give a man a papaya and he will eat for a day,
Give a man papaya seeds and he will eat for a lifetime.
Fruit from a single plant has no commercial value, regardless of quality.
Wholesalers do not purchase a mixed load of different types of papayas.
Seeds give you the ability to have multiple plants and full loads of the same variety.

It is a female ... I bet the next ones have seeds. If not you could diddle with a hermie flower and see if you can pollinate. Good luck. Cuttings, etc. online it says they do that in some countries with some varieties, but I have tried many times and always failed.

Severing the trunk at 2 ft may generate a new plant with seeded fruit. Chris Rollins of the Fruit and Spice Park mentioned something like this at tonights TC Rare Fruit club meeting. Paps switching sexes when adverse conditions occur..

Just from my personal experience .. Most of the time one or two of the fruits will have a seed in them.. Youll see it! No telling if it will be a male or female or hem, Also as bananaml said if the plant is stressed it can change sex
